Grantham

Grantham is located on the River Witham and has a population of around 38,000.

The town has connections to two famous people. The first woman Prime Minster – Margaret Thatcher was born in Grantham and Sir Issac Newton was born at Woolsthorpe Manor which is open to the public, he was also a pupil at Grantham’s Kings School. On St Peters Hill there is a statue of Sir Issac Newton. The Doomsday Book also mentions Grantham.

A market is held each Saturday and a Farmers Market is held on the second Saturday in each month.

There are plenty of places to visit in and around Grantham. St Wulfram’s Church has a 281ft tall spire. There is the Guildhall Arts Cente, Grantham Museum and 17th century stately home – Belton House.
