Description
2010 ROYAL AIR FORCE WADDINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW – 30 JUNE & 1 JULY
Each year over 130,000 people visit the two-day International Air Show held on the first weekend in July at RAF Waddington, 3 miles south of Lincoln. The largest of all RAF air shows offers a truly unforgettable day's entertainment for all the family. Since the inaugural show, held in 1995, the event has earned an outstanding reputation for appealing to enthusiasts and families alike and is now widely recognised to be one of the most successful air shows in the country. The main purpose of the show is to increase public awareness and understanding of the work of the RAF. All proceeds from the Air Show are donated to RAF charities and local worthy causes. To date, the Air Show has raised over £2.5m for charities.
With 2010 marking 90 years since the first ever RAF air show, 70 years since the Battle of Britain and 35 years since Airborne Early Warning systems, the Air Show Organisers plan to showcase a display of aircraft to celebrate these milestones in UK modern history. The 7-hour flying display will feature aircraft from RAF Waddington as well as many national and international aircraft and display teams, including the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The large range of ground displays includes over one hundred military and civilian aircraft, more than 250 trade stands, craft marquees, a funfair, classic cars, three exhibition hangars and many “hands-on” exhibits from all three Armed Forces. Many catering outlets and bars provide an excellent variety of food and refreshments.
Tickets are now on sale on-line at www.waddingtonairshow.co.uk. The show also offers several private enclosure packages, ranging from tiered seating on the crowd in the Hurricane Seated Enclosure to the Lord Trenchard Pavilion - a truly unique hospitality facility that caters for both private and corporate parties.
