Lincolnshire Golf Courses

Forest Pines and Belton Woods are two well know Lincolnshire golf courses that spring to mind, especially Belton Woods, which not only played host to the PGA European Seniors Tour 1995-1998, but is also accredited as one of the only PGA approved championship locations in the East Midlands.

However, Lincolnshire golf courses are not limited to just large, well-known courses. Whatever your level of play or ability, you’ll nearly always be able to find a friendly a club that will welcome you for a round.

Already mentioned are the top-end clubs, which have facilities for even the professional player. However, there are many more dotted around the county that offer a round of 18 holes regardless of your golfing status!

There are a number of hotels that specialise in golfing activity holidays, often with special midweek and weekend breaks for golfers who like to enjoy a game as a tranquil break in a beautiful Lincolnshire setting. Using the hotel as a base, you can enjoy a round or two and then explore the local area at leisure, visit places of interest and enjoy a home-cooked meal in a local restaurant.

For day-time visitors who simply fancy a game during the day, there are many public ones to choose from as well as private clubs which offer guest day fees. The advantage of these is that almost without exception, they will be located near a centre of population that offers visitors other attractions. The golfing member of the family can take in a round while their partner and children can enjoy a full day of other activity nearby.

Also useful for consideration are ranges and pitch and putt venues, of which there are many in the county.

Lincolnshire’s better-known clubs are adjacent to the main population areas of Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Horncastle, Lincoln, Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness, Sleaford, Immingham, Spalding, Scunthorpe, Market Rasen and Stamford, although there are of course many others dotted around the county. Most clubs have excellent facilities, and beginners and experienced players alike will always receive a friendly welcome.
