Going back to the mid eighteen hundreds Long Sutton was a prosperous trading town.
With the introduction of trains to the town in 1860 it put Long Sutton on the map and delivered produce and passengers to other towns and cities.
The Friday market still remains in the centre of town, which dates back to the 13th century.
More recently Long Sutton is known for being named among the Best Kept Villages in Lincolnshire and Best Small Town in ‘East Midlands In Bloom’ competitions.
For flower lovers, Seagate Irises is located on the A17 by-pass and has over 800 varieties in their collection.
The Butterfly and Wildlife Park situated on the outskirts of Long Sutton has plenty of facilities for everyone to enjoy including a raccoon enclosure, insect gallery, birds of prey and an Award Winning Tea Room.
