Most shops have view of the magnificent Cathedral which dominates the skyline of the town.
High Street is home many of the well-known department stores, including Peacocks, Binns, Marks and Spencer and Bhs. There are also many independent stores, gift shops, pet stores, sports shops, bookshops, restaurants, bars, cafes and others you’d expect to find on streets radiating from a vibrant and cosmopolitan city centre.
Shopping in Lincoln offers two major centres off the High Street. The modern Waterside Centre is situated on three levels next to the River Witham, is only five minutes walk from the central train station, three minutes from the bus station and can be reached directly from the pedestrian High Street. A popular centre with visitors and locals alike, it is decorated in a style which reflects the Roman past.
Naturally enough, The Waterside Centre is home to some of major brands, including The Body Shop, Dolcis, Etam, Primark, Bay Trading, Topshop, Mark one, Faith Shoes and Oasis.
There is also a food court on the 2nd floor offering variety of cuisine styles and which provides seating for over 200 people. From here there are scenic views over the River Witham. Disabled toilet facilities are also available on this level and may be accessed by one of two spacious lifts in the centre.
To the West of Waterside, and only five minutes away situated by the roundabout between Brayford Way and Tritton Road is the St. Mark’s retail centre. Having had a major makeover at the end of 2007, this centre offers shoppers some of the big retail names including Lakeland, Argos, Debenhams, John Richmond, Multiyork, Boots, Jasper Conran and John Rochas and for children Ted Baker’s bestselling kids range. A brand new Maplin electronics store opened in 2007, as did Costa Coffee and Café M.
Wherever you visit for shopping in Lincoln, you’ll find plenty of parking, plenty of choice, easy access and a warm welcome awaiting you, the main elements that will satisfy even the most seasoned shopper!
